Sucide (very Short Nepali Story
Sucide There is commotion near city’s main road. Traffic is jammed and people crowded. Everyone’s trying to get a glimpse of what has happened. I also proceed towards the scene. Oh! What a horrible sight! Somebody is lying there covered wholly in white linen. I inquisitively point towards it and ask one of my friend…? And it was the reply. ‘A son of one of Minister used to study in village school where he had had an affair with someone. No sooner his father became Minister; he wanted his son to study in public school away from his village, but the son was adamant about it. He would not leave his beloved for the sake of school which led to misunderstanding between father and son. What he may have thought of… god knows. And he just jumped from this bridge, ending his life. Oh! Just look here; one of our Minister’s son committed suicide here leading to jamming the traffic and crowding. Surya Bahadur Karki is his real name. He has earned a lot of name in his native place. He is addressed as SuryaBabu by everyone. After having lost most of his land to government project and amassed crores in compensation, have migrated to town. SuryaBabu now has beautifully constructed house and is settled. A high rise building, where from the top many buildings can be seen. While in the village, he commanded certain degree of respect, but as of now he is every time gloomy and sad. Frankly speaking he is never happy in the town he’s settled. Man Maya Karki is his wife who has been able to establish her identity after coming to town. As she had worked as a president of women welfare organization in the village, she is now actively involved with one of the human right organization.
